- Fun Fact: As of 2017, Milton Keynes is 50 years old! The town was ‘born’ on 23rd January 1967 after the British government decided that a further generation of new towns in the south-east of England was needed to relieve housing congestion in London. The site was deliberately located equidistant from London, Birmingham, Leicester, Oxford & Cambridge and had a target population of 250,000. It’s nearly there!
